Co-founders Jennifer Kalman and Emily Wilson both studied Architecture at Dalhousie University. With a background in psychology, Jennifer brings an understanding of the human experience and how it is shaped by the designed environment. As a craftsperson, Emily brings a keen eye for detail and ability to see a project from sketch to reality, a process she finds endlessly rewarding.

"Over the last three years running our own design firm, we couldn't help but geek out over finding the perfect light fixtures to complete a space. An electrifying idea struck us - why not combine our love for woodworking and design to craft our own collection? Say hello to A Light Studio! Each lighting piece is lovingly handcrafted with quirks and charms, ensuring no two fixtures are ever twinsies.
